No Fear

Another great installment for the Black Templars. The Orks are back and now an intrigue plot involving the Imperial Guard. Read the first novel in the series first though, there are flashbacks but you'll be lost.

A Really Good Read- 4.5 Stars

The second book about the Black Templars picks up right where the first one left off. Brant and the battle brothers of the Solumnus Crusade are the most zealous and unforgiving Marines the Black Library has written about, but unlike most books about Space Marines, the Black Templars are all strong, well rounded characters. It is an enjoyable experience to read about the motivations and drives of Space Marines, instead of the stories that present them as nothing but a bunch of paper cutouts that have been given a life, but no personality. For those of you who wonder what makes the Black Templars so unique amongst all the Chapters, you need to enter this book realizing that this Chapter is the least forgiving of the Space Marines. If there ever was a band of battle brothers who would be presented as two-dimensional, it is the Black Templars. The Black Templars do not use librarians, and they even regard their tech-priests with some distrust. Jonathan Green is one of the few writers capable of actually bringing this Chapter to life and actually making it fun to read. He has done a wonderful job in this series so far, but this book does not wrap up as nicely as it should, so I cannot give it a full 5 star rating. Still, it is a fantastic book, and I highly reccomend it to my fellow readers who enjoy a good Space Marine story.
