"Listen, Eliza," he said with a scowl, almost hating the cold tone he used. "I don't want you, and I don't want a mate. I want to be able to do as I please, so don't get comfortable here at the palace-and don't get complacent. I will find a way to convince my father and Kane to leave me be and let me find a mate in my own time. In the meanwhile, steer clear of me. It's best for both of us if you do."
He stalked off, glad to not hear the sound of her footsteps following him. If he had, he may have caved in and turned back around to do what he really wished to.
Push her against the wall and kiss her until he stole her breath away.
