Excellent & modern book of Confucian philosophy

Ever wonder what Confucianism is about? This gem of a book will give you a personal and in-depth introduction to the "four books" of Confucianism in a way that is useful and informative. The book provides expert guidance on the subject from the editor, who is not a professional scholar but an engineer and administrator who felt so passionately about the subject matter that he published this book and made sure it got translated into English. The editor was a modern Chinese man who lived in both the U.S. and China whose extensive commentary provides a very helpful bridge between this ancient (but surprisingly relevant) philosophy and a young American person like myself. Please note that this book is not short (594 pages plus glossary and index). The print is a bit small. And if you're looking for a small book of inspirational quotes you might find that this book is not a "light read". None of these things detract from the value of the book but I want you to be an informed shopper before you place an order.
