My mentor growing up was a brilliant, conservative republican. He was a lawyer, a judge and the mayor of a large American city. We had long discussions about many things, especially governance. One of the things he told me was that "Fascism would not come marching into America in Jack Boots: it would come from within from well meaning but stupid people, under the guise of "law & Order". He went on to say, that all it would take is a sociopath who employed basic methods of manipulation, especially gas lighting. It will be people who dont recognized the difference between Patriotism and Nationalism who will make it happen. Morgan neatly lays out how Traitor Trump has done this - and how simple minded and insecure portions of the population have mindlessly taken the bait. Sometimes nothing is more obscure than the obvious. History will judge trump and his slavish devotees for what they are.
