Good illustrations and a great format

As a modeler, I like the drawings and the big format of the book. Not much comments which takes me to the idea that the book was intended as an illustrated book and not very detailed for a history passionate. Though at this price I like it a lot. Very good.

Complete Book of World War II Combat Aircraft

This book was more than I expected. Very detailed in every aspect. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in this subject.

Excellent resource on WWII warplanes

This is a very complete encyclopedia of WWII warplanes. Each plane is detailed with all pertinent information as well as very well done color layouts of each plane. Great as a resource for WWII warplane fanatics, I enjoyed this book very much. It is quite a large book (coffee table sized) which is nice because the colored plates for each plane benefit from having plenty of landscape to show details.

A decent reference book

Although a few entries are missing, I did enjoy the way the book is organized and presented. Single- and Page-and-a-half color plates are well done and plentiful which is very nice in a book that size. Text entries remain a bit short and need some re-editing, although they do give the essential information. I wasn't disappointed with the purchase, and the book does a good job complementing my collection of other historical books on the subject matter.

Take another look

The book is a compilation of WWII COMBAT Aircraft. As such, the comments in the other review about the book missing the C-47, PBY, German Fokker Trimotor and Donier Trainer is not fair. These were not primarilty COMBAT aircraft, but more of a transport or training role. The Airacobra and Kingcobra, reportedly missing, are on pages 276 and 277, both with color plates. I don't believe the book deserves the bad press of the other review. I find the book holds plenty of useful information, including production numbers for the numerous variants. The color plates and photos are great. It is hard to get everything into one text, but I think it is worth the money.
