a great read

Bishop Anders Nygren in all of the books I have read of his, takes plenty of time to work through the thesis and points of his message. This book is a classic to me and I have enjoyed reading his work on Romans which is one of the greatest books, or at least most read and talked about book in the New Testament if not the whole Bible. Mygren makes his ploints clearly so they can be understood by the reader and you are pulled along with him as he is discussing them. This is a book tht could be effectively be read by ministers and lay persons alike to good advantage., J. Robert Ewbank, author of "John Wesley, Natural Man, and the 'Isms'"

Best Commentary on Romans in my Experience.

I have been studying and collecting commentaries on Romans for twenty years or so, and this Romans Commentary by Anders Nygren is head and shoulders above any I have studied. it is the perfect balance of scholarship, readability, insight, and inspiration. Nygren reminds me of Martyn Lloyd-Jones in that he examines scripture from all sides, is very analytical, yet has a gift for communicating his observations in a simple manner. He is very down-to-earth and emphasizes points that really matter. Of all the Christian books I own that have effected my Christian walk with the Lord in a serious manner, this one is in the top five. I forget where I first heard about Anders Nygren, but I thank God for that day. I view this commentary as a gift directly from Him. You will read insights from Romans in this commentary that you won't find anywhere else. It is fairly simple, yet supremely profound. My motive for taking the time to write this review is the hope that I can share this blessing with you and others, as I have been blessed.
