Good companion to Forta's book

I am quite pleased with this "Dummies" book, actually. I am already an expert-level HTML and DHTML coder, so perhaps that's why I am finding Gutzman and Ashenfelter's work to be right on par with my needs as someone green to ColdFusion. I picked up the book the day after being assigned the task of building an interactive Web-based program to track customer support, and this "Dummies" book was perfect - not only as an introduction, but got me a few levels above "beginner." And isn't that why we BUY "Dummies" books? Surely not to achieve elite status. This book gave me exactly what it was supposed to. Nothing more, nothing less.

Very Good Book, Not the Best, But Worth the MONEY & MORE

I though the book was very good, and explained alot that some of the other books did NOT, everyone has there own opinion, I think the ones that didnt like it, either DONT understand the software and this book, or expected alot more then what they got from this book, A dummie book does NOT mean your a dummie, and why a CF guru would write what they did is beyond me. If your a guru, then I would expect to ask you anything and everything about CF and you should be able to answer it. All I know is I like the book and read it on a Saturday, and picked up alot of info. I suggest you read some of the book or skimm through the beefer parts while your in the store before you buy, that way it wont leave a bad taste in your mouth.Later

You must read this book first if you are not a programmer.

If you want to be a ColdFusion developer then read get this book first. Graphic designer can be a Coldfusion developeor with this book. Real Dummie can be real Mr Smart with this book. I have a huge favor about this book. I want to read "Semi dummies for ColdFusion 4 part II". Thank you.

Just what I was looking for.

This book was extremely concise in the way it handled the learning process. Though I had seen the term "ColdFusion" all over the place, I had no clue. Now I have a very good understanding of the programming involved and the basic nature of the language. It was almost embarassing to discover how much ColdFusion is like HTML. Good book that deserves good reviews.
