Reminiscent to me of Jan Karon's Mitford books, it's a pleasure to curl up and visit the people you know in the town of Valentine. I read Driving Lessons first and loved it and this one didn't disappoint either. I'm looking forward to reading At the Corner of Love and Heartache.
Refreshing, full of earthy wisdom

This is the perfect, relaxing read for a hot Indian Summer day. I loved the simple, uncomplicated characters and the down home plot which revolved around Marilee, her mentally challenged son and niece with just the right amount of romance thrown in for good measure. If you're looking for a well-written 'feel good' book, then this is the one for you. I was eager to read the sequel when I got to the happy ending.....
TOTALLY ENJOYABLE!

The author has created a totally real and engaging cast of characters and a town that sounds like I'd like to live there. This is my first book by this author - but it will not be the last. It is so refreshing to find such beautifully developed characterizations. From Merilee to Tate to Aunt Vella and the other good townspeople, I loved them all. The children were especially endearing. I can't recommend this book strongly enough to anyone who wants to laugh, smile and cry. Thank you, Curtiss Ann!

This book was great. It just came alive as you turn each page. I fell in love with this town and it's people. I haven't read anything this fresh in a long time. Please buy the book.
