Different than film, but still great! *spoilers*

When I began reading the book I expected something simular to the movie scenario: {Senior citizens discover a pool with alien pods, dive in and start getting physically younger.} It wasnt like the movie at all. The anterians we know from the 1985 Ron Howard film are not present in the book version. There are a whole different set of anterians in the book headed by a nice alien named Amos Bright instead of Walter. The female of the group is named Beam not Kitty. She and Jack do not have an affair in the book. Jack has a human girl friend. Rather than contiue giving each difference in movie and book, I will write a brief summary. Seniors move to the completed building of the complex while the other one stays un built. After several weeks of no progress on the other building the senior citizens headed by Ben Green go to check out whats going on with the new complex building. They discover what they think is a health club/spa. They never saw equipment like the ones at the 'club'. They start using the equipment and their elderly weakneses are removed... I wont give away the whole book, but I will say this: While slow at times, and a little annoying at some parts, Cocoon is a good book. I recomend this book for a good read.
