it is ok

I cannot say it is the best, actually it could be more consistent. But it i a start, something to read at home and use to fix drinks at home.

An excellent introduction to the world of Quality Cocktails

This is one of the better books on cocktails available. It contains a decent, but not large, collection of cocktail recipes. And the recipes that it contains are -excellent-. Interspersed throughtout the book are insights, information, and opinions about what it really takes to make a really, -really- good cocktail. You won't find any of those fru-fru cocktails with silly names or funny ingredients here. If you are serious about learning about cocktails, then this is one book you need to pick up.-Robert

A witty look at the past, present and future of cocktailing.

In an insightful and witty exploration of the highballs and lowballs of cocktail culture, Ms. Matczuk has provided every prospective host with a guide to mixology in the next millenium. From her fascinating exploration of the origin of the cocktail, to her tongue-in-cheek criticism of "so-called bartenders" of the present era, Ms. Matczuk paints a colorful backdrop to her examination of the cocktail nation phenomenon. Any bar, whether in Manhattan or the rec room, MUST have the Little Black Book of Cocktails as close at hand as the ice bucket and the jigger. Shaken or stirred, this is a must read for anyone seeking an alternative to micro-breweries and wine bars.
