Great read

I have read a large amount of westerns ranging for the famous to the not so famous and I have to say this is one of the best. Yes, he's my dad, and one of his biggest critics.

Makes you a Western Fan

It was a story where I was constantly surprised and pleased to see bits of natural history thrown in. Author has a good background in our American history and displays it throughout the book. Looking forward to his next "historical fiction" since this book included so much already.

Great Western Adventure

One of those books that you can hardly put down because of the need to read the next chapter. Spence was constantly involved with Indians, gunfighters, settlers and the environment. I never read a book twice but have started the third reading on this one.
