I haven't read his other books (looks like he has quite a few out there) so no idea how much information is already covered in the other ones. Anyhow this IS two books in one. The first half covers Junk/Clutter/Beloved Knickknacks whatever you'd like to call them. Is part of it redundant? oh yes - much the way Alan Carr's Quit Smoking book is redundant....repetition makes it stick ;) By the time you finish the 1st half of the book you want to see NOTHING but bare spaces & empty closets!!!! You just can't wait to get started & are feeling more than a little bashful about some things you collect, even if you've been "good" at decluttering (so you thought). The 2nd half of the book is about cleaning. How to clean like a professional using their most efficient & cost effective methods. There are detailed lists of preferred cleaners, where to get them, the best tools, what to wear, basic supplies ect. Also he covers some ground on how often oddball things should be cleaned. Some of the information is outdated IMHO, but it has been 7 years since it was released. I do hope everyone who has a question is NOT writing him - else he'd never get anything done. Great sense of humor throughout the entire book, and the cartoons are hilarious. It's a quick, thought provoking, enjoyable read. Can't wait to have my clutter-a-holic friend read it now *rolls eyes* maybe it will help.

As a self confessed pack rat, I found this book very helpful. There are a lot of ideas to help unclutter your life. Now, I just have to do what the author suggests.
