It contains information not in other books

This book is sometimes hard to read, but that's why it contains a lot necessary information. I passed 510 and 511 (preparing 512) with two books including this, and when I need ALL the complete information I have to search for it in this book. The book is a great tool for obtain the CLP, mainly as a reference "you can find all" book. When you study 511, you have here basic information for CLP that you can't find in another book. Try it

To put it simply, Tim & Dave are the "Shakespeare's of Domino". I've been a avid reader of their previous book, Lotus Notes & Domino Essential Reference, and when I purchased this book I knew I could do no wrong. Coming from an administrative background,this book like the last one, allows me to not only prepare for the CLP Development Exams, but gives me a comfortable feeling about Notes Devlopment best practices. The simplicity, clear cut examples and the questions make this book a Pulitizer Prize for Domino Based books. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next book.

You need this book

Although it is a fairly thick book (600+ pages), it reads very quickly - cutting through a lot of the fluff you may find in other guides. The book is divided into 3 sections, each covering one exam. Each chapter ends with a "What's Important to Know" section which I found very helpful. The sample questions for each exam were also critical.If you are an experienced Notes/Domino developer, you still need this book. Everyone becomes accustomed to working in their own environment and rarely has the need to familarize themselves with other environments which are covered on the exams. Also, there are always aspects of Notes that as a developer, you rarely use. And of course, as an seasoned Notes developer, you have no doubt found work-arounds for all of the limitations of Notes. All of these things can cause you to flunk a cert. exam. Even point releases of the product can sometimes trip you up.All of these things are covered in this book. If you read this book, you will greatly increase your odds of passing the covered exams. Good Luck!

passed all three exams with this book

i found it absolutely a must have. i passed the exams with 90%, 94% and 85% by reading this book and studying some self-test exam questions and thomas-consulting test questions.it's brief but to the point and covers the exams very well. good luck to all and a happy, healthy 2001
