Drug Reference

Always handy in my office. We refer to this book at least once a day. It's the best up to date reference and you don't have to reach for a 5 lb Physician's Desk Reference when you can find it right here!

good reference

This is a good small compact reference book. I do traveling coding and am always looking for reference material in a condensed format.

Outstanding pocket guide

Scut monkey drug reference is way more useful and helpful than tarascon pocket pharm. It includes method of action, SE's, and more. Imagine that, a pocket pharm guide with side effects! Who would ever need that information? (tarascon doesn't include side effects....or method of action.) I carry it in my white coat pocket even though I have PDA software because, inevitably, before the PDA is even turned on I have the answer from this book. I reserve the PDA for obscure, seldom used drugs and this pocket guide for the other 99.9% of actual daily medicine.

Pretty good guide

I think this book is a very useful buy, if you prefer a printed drug guide for the medications you are using, instead of a PDA or PC. The fact is that this book includes mechanism of action, indications and major side effects for all drugs, something that makes it more useful than its equivalent Taracson's Pocket Pharmacopoieia. If the only thing that you need from a drug guide, though, is the matching of a medication with it's generic name, then pharmacopoeia is much better, because it is smaller. This one has one and only drawback, that it is not 100% complete regarding the newer oncolgy meds, even though it includes most of them. Overall, I found it very useful, because i still don't know it all...
