Good not great

I had high expectations for this book. Similar books from the same publisher are excellent. That said this isn't quite up to that standard. It does have some unique diagrams to help visualize circuits and tracts in helpful ways that other texts do not offer. It doesn't have that board review feel of 'you should know all of this so we'll just give you tables and figures with the important information' but it doesn't offer much more detail. It reads as if the authors made a board review book with paragraphs instead of tables and a bunch of above average figures. All and all I'd say Blumenfeld is the better book if you want a definitive reference. This one is, however, much faster and easier to read if you just want an overview.
