Important Book - Documents the citizen-led campaign against coal

I read Climate Hope in two sittings - its an important book which documents the fast-growing citizens movement against coal and fossil fuels. Since the mainstream media doesnt seem to get it, Ted Nace's book (and his CoalSwarm wiki) is an excellent source that proves that citizens are engaged and taking action, even though our government seems to be dithering. Well-written and timely, highly recommended.

Excellent book on little known topic

Few people know about the work of communities across this country to challenge the building of new coal plants, nor how successful they have been. Considering how much coal plants (which provide half the country's electricity) contribute to global warming, as well as other health and environmental problems, their fight is our fight. This book tells us about them, and also looks into other issues like the economic institutions and people that finance coal plants, China and coal, and the future of renewables. Required reading for anyone interested in coal and climate change.

Highly recommended for anyone needing a boost of hope

In this deeply compelling and hopeful report from the front lines of the climate fight, Ted Nace demonstrates how individuals, and small groups of conscientious Americans, are winning, and altering the course of human history. With over 100 coal plants now blocked, the growing grassroots climate movement has the coal industry on its heels. This book is a must-read for anyone needing a boost of hope in these challenging times. Beyond being deeply inspiring, "Climate Hope" is well-researched, well-written and enjoyable to read.

Accessible, informative, and encouraging message for the New Year

For people who care about our children's future, and the future of our planet for that matter, Ted Nace has written a very personal and informative narrative explaining why ending coal emissions is "the 80% solution" to solving our climate crisis. Beyond that, it gives hope by sharing positive examples of people who have mobilized to stop new coal plants, and encourages the rest of us to be part of the swarm for ongoing education about this crucial topic. A wonderful gift for the New Year!
