This is a well-researched book!

Here is a huge volume of 526 pages that will put you in the know about everyday cleaning and also give you some very specialized knowledge about the cleaning of shoes, dolls, bicycles paintings, musical instruments and more. This book is quite a discovery that I feel belongs as a reference manual in your home if you want to actually cut your work load by learning new and better methods and shortcuts. If you are "going green" you'll really like the directions to concoct your own collection of money-saving and "Earth friendly" cleaning solutions. This book is a good investment that will pay you back many times over. The author consulted professionals in specialized fields to give the knowledge presented here some extra value. It's always best to get your knowlede on any subject from multiple sources. However, if you are going to have only one book on house cleaning, I recommend this one.

Great Resource

This really isn't the type of book you sit down and read. It is the type of book you keep around for reference. Having said that though, I did sit down and page through this book and go many ideas regarding how to clean things that i thought I was doing a find job cleaning. What I learned, however, is that there might be a better way, a safer way, a less damaging way to clean something. The author went right to the source of experts for cleaning directions. Want to clean a golf ball, crayons off a wall, hard water spots in a shower? Here is the way. Want to take care of cooking odors, clean a tuba, make a broom last longer? Here is the way. Excellent resource. Enjoy.

The author did her research and asked experts how to clean items she wasn't familiar with. As an example, she goes straight to the team leader of specifications for Bowling Balls to find out how to clean a bowling balls and finds out what substances could actually hurt them. Covers both the basics (upholstery, stuffed animals, vases, wallpaper) and the more unique items (whirlpools, taxidermy items, motorcycles). I'd be surprised if the reader didn't find new information in this one!

Move over, fairy godmother. The magic wand for that dreaded task--housekeeping--has arrived. I love this book! You have to buy it! It's the best gift for a friend getting a new apartment or house, or someone who's getting married. I even bought it for my mother and my grandmother, they wish there was a book like this years ago.Who knew the best way to clean your toilet was to put some cola soda in it, or the best way to improve your bowling game is to wash your bowling ball in the dishwasher. My favorite tip is to keep your diamonds sparkling, you should soak them in vodka. It really works!This is so cool, because the book also gives you quickie tips incase you are having company over. This is my favorite book of the century!You'll save yourself a ton of money on expensive cleaning products too.

Very Informative!

Everything you need to know about cleaning just about everything in your home. I could not believe the amout of information packed in this book. Love the book but I still hate cleaning.
