Close to my heart!

Clara is actually my great-grandmother. I was gifted this book as a child by my great aunt who is one of the authors. I loved this story! how Clara is portrayed she is so strong and spunky. it was such a different portrait to see of her in her youth compared to what I saw when I visited her in the summers. she was much older and she didn't remember most things but she was a lovely woman who always smiled and was the kindest person I'd ever met she and I actually share the same birthday. this is a rousing good tale about a young girl and her journeys in her early life I would recommend it to anybody and it's sequel Clara rides the rancho and not just because it's one of my family members. I'm so happy that I finally found a copy of this book because I are lost my original one in a big move. I will cherish this book always.
