Enlightening and Entertaining

This quiz/trivia book is deceptive. You think it's just a little quiz book about dates and important people in church history and then you find out how bizarre church leaders and customs could be. The consummation of marriage used to require confirmation by eyewitnesses. Dying saints had to be protected from relic hunters who'd try to remove a finger or ear as a souvenir. It's not anti-church or anti-Christianity in any way, it simply presents an honest, if sometimes obscure, look at church history. Informative and a lot of fun. I highly recommend this book.
