California plants for Chumash healing

It is a well research and written book on Chumash tribe of California. It defines the people and their idea of sickness and disease and how they used the local herbs and plants to restore health. With plant names and drawing with pictographs and even the Painted Cave near Santa Barbara, they did not expect miracles but with a scientific approach. Of significance is the different chapters on the major different diseases treatment with plants and some tribal shaman functional ceremony. It includes a chapter on Trail of Tears, a genocide besides the old world disease which Native Americans had no immunity. This book is an important chapter of Chumash tradition on healing with California plants.
