WONDERFUL TESTIMONY

Another great book from Pastor Chuck Smith, this time Chuck tells his life story to his son Chuck Jr. Thank you Chuck Jr for taking the time to record all what this man of God has done for the community and for the gates of heaven. As one reads this story they can see the hand of God shaping and forming Chucks life, from his humble beginnings in Ventura to leading one of the largest non denominational churches in the world. In this book you will find triumphs and tragedies, all the while the man stays faithful to his Lord. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent autobiography

I started listening Pastor Chuck Smith around 2 years ago in my tractor-trailer when i was driving around southern California. I got amazed to the humble responses to questions about the Bible from this man in a radio program named "The Pastor's Perspective". When this book was publicized for the request of others but the Pastor Chuck, I wanted to know the beginning of this well balanced ministry that God has endorsed through a great amount of fruits (espiritual and material)around the world. This book talks about several experiencies that Pastor Chuck experimented including frustrations and failures in the beginning of his ministry. It seemed to me to short even though it has a very respectable size, but it is because you want to know more and more about what God can do in the life of a simple man that has let God work in his life. Pastor Chuck has very good recommendations to the persons who want to work for God in the ministry. I just can say that Chuck Smith is one of the best Bible teachers after Jesus. He is very humble and down to earth man of God. I am not member of any Calvary Chapel, yet. but I can say at last that it is a relief to find this kind of man in a world where there are many people self called espiritual that twist the Bible and people's life. Thats no the case of Pastor Chuck Smith. God bless him.

Very Inspiring!

I have read this book at least four times :) I love the candid way that Pastor Chuck tells of his life, his search for God as a young teen to his early days of struggle in ministry, all the way to the time when the Lord led him to Calvary Chapel ... and the amazing things that had opened up since then. What a story of God's guidance, provision and direction! I am so inspired!

Everything is preparation for something else

If you've ever gone through something bad, you're not alone. This book is an amazing encouragement to help anyone see that everything you experience, is a plan and purpose for your life. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs encouragement through a difficult time. It's a fast read. I wasn't able to put the book down until I had finished all 200 pages! God bless you, Chuck!

What an encouragement!

This book had a common theme running through it--that everything is preparation for something else. That is so encouraging! It's nice to know that when you are going through things it won't be a total waste. I was very encouraged to read that such a successful pastor had his rough times as well, including financial, faith, and personal struggles. It gives me hope that God will work all things together for good. I just need to get a little further down the path of life to see how it will all work out. I also really enjoyed reading this book because I love Pastor Chuck and it was great to be able to read stories I hadn't heard before. And I loved seeing all the old pictures of him!
