A charming, inventive novel

A thirteen-year-old, Christopher, is a troublemaker. But when he goes into a supposedly haunted house, he meets a man who shows him how to use powers he never knew he had, such as telepathy and invisibility. Christopher experiments with these and returns to the house to learn a new lesson. In the end, he emerges from the house with a heightened sense of consciousness, a troublemaker no more.
