Sui Ishida is back in the manga world!!

Choujin are people with monstrous abilities that has destroyed most of the world, Including the prefecture where best friends Tokio and Asuna live. Asuna is the town's hero, while Tokio is considered the useless sidekick of the duo, until one day when a bully, a choujin himself, takes things a step too far and the boys inject themselves with a mysterious substance. Now Tokio has to learn how to control his new choujin powers to become the hero. Meanwhile, Atly, a kind tomato farmer girl, is currently being chased down by a psycho smoke dude for copying his choujin abilities. I really like how the story and chapters are told from the dual perspectives of Tokio and Atly, it makes each other's stories a bit more dynamic when being told, especially when they finally run into each other. There is a lot of mystery and intrigue which is fun, the characters themselves feel unique, and there's also a lot of humor in this which is a pleasant surprise. I absolutely love the art! It is sketchy, unrefined, and beautiful. Also there are numerous two-page spreads throughout the book and they are all gorgeous! There's a very chill vibe to the series even though there's a lot of action, (similar to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End,) that along with Tokio's personality, this reminds me of Call of the Night. There's also a (hero) character that looks strikingly similar to Allmight from My Hero Academia, though his personality is still unknown. There is a lot of mysteries surrounding choujin, and I can't wait to dig in deeper into further volumes!
