Over the past half-dozen years Colin Maxwell has found nearly five dozen runaway,kidnapped and abducted children and adults. Maxwell's story is one of passion, excitement and extremely intricate detective work. After serving in the Canadian armed forces, he worked as a professional "skip-tracer" for a collection agency. Finding himself surprisingly adept, he soon approached financial agencies, offering to seek out people who had disappeared without paying their debts. Here the adventure starts. One company challenged Maxwell to find three people they couldn't locate. He found two the same afternoon. Then, in 1982, the budding investigator noted a newspaper story about an Ontario woman who was searching for her two sons who had been abducted four years earlier by her estranged husband. One, for example, is about an Alberta woman whose two daughters had been abducted by her ex-husband over a decade earlier. Both were toddlers when kidnapped, and no one had been able to find them.
