Thrill ride

Reeling from the death of a loved one at Alex's hand, Jack is caught in a web of hunting Alex down before she kills everyone Jack loves. Dangerous cat and mouse game with McGlade & Phin backing her up, Jack must make a life or death decision. Thrilling page turner with Jack matching wits with psycho Alex, humor from McGlade and his new pet, and Phin's friendship all round out an excellent installment of this series.

Best yet!

Read all of the series and this is the best one yet! Fast paced with comedy and a great plot! I love Jack, she is so real, I can almost see her! Thanks for another great read, and holding my breath for the next one...

Awesome

This lastest book by J.A. Konrath was a perfect conclusion to Jack's fued with Alex the serial killer. Its awesome. It has some heartache but overall it delivers a powerful punch you don't want to miss!

A Jack Daniels Mystery

If you have read the last book then you will be thrilled that in the first paragraph you find out who was killed in the last one. Cherry Bomb picks up and continues the hunt for Alex Kork. The twists and edge of the seat tension just keeps on coming in the one. With comic relief given by one crazy monkey, yes a monkey. This is a must read for all J. A. Konrath fans! At the end of this one the only cliff hanger is where will Jack go next and how will it work into the next book in the series. As a fan of Jack Daniels mystery's I sure hope this isn't the end of her. I really can't tell you much more of the plot without giving away the cliff hanger at the end of Fuzzy Navel. I hate that myself, so I won't do it in my review. Buy this book and enjoy!

Hope it's not the last one

The "Jack Daniels" series hooked me about 3 years ago...I absolutely love them in audiobook form because the stories are fast moving, gross and hysterically funny and Dick Hill and Susie Breck have nailed the characters they portray. Cherry Bomb wraps up a lot of the story lines that have been left open in the previous books and ends sounding like it may be the last of the series. I hope not because JA Konrath has an almost frightening gift for disturbingly graphic murder and mutilation descriptions that should have me cringing but the humor woven into the situations is so well done that I'm laughing as well as anticipating the next horrific episode. If you like humor and graphic violence all rolled up together you will love the whole series.

The Best of the Series

I loved this book. To me, it's the gold standard of what JA Konrath is all about - humor, horror, lightning-fast wit, and a story that absolutely blasts along. With every book in this series, Konrath has raised the bar in terms of experimentation, writing, plotting, and character-development, and with CHERRY BOMB, he has set a new personal best. All your favorites are here - McGlade, Trout, and a new character named Slappy. I won't tell you who Slappy is. I'd hate to deprive you of that surprise, but you will never be the same. Read. This. Book. You will love it.
