The Wall

Tom Arnold has written an engaging story about an expatriot American in Berlin in the 1960s. Checkpoint Charlie provides a nice blend of historical insight and coldwar drama that suddenly becomes a fast moving story of suspense on both sides of the walls. Good fun read.

Exciting story with depth

I bought this book directly from the author (signed and with color map!) at an art festival when visiting Eugene. I was expecting some military / spy novel but was impressed with the books style and depth. The story shows the growth of a main character, who was disillusioned with the materialism of the USA and rejects it in youthful rebellion. His perceptions and sophistication grow during the unfolding of the exciting and suspenseful story.

A Winner

What a fun book to read especially for those of us who lived through this era. Memories galore. Mr. Arnold is a "much better than your average" storyteller. Loved the edge-of-your-seat ending and there was just enough romance to definitely keep one's attention. Hope he'll come out with some more soon.

This book is outstanding! It was so good, once I began reading it, I couldn't put it down and read the entire book in two days! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys suspense, drama and excitement. I hope Tom writes another book soon!
