A Souvenir From the Days When We Thought They Were Happy
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
I received a copy of this book shortly after Charles and Diana were married. The Royals are and were of more than just of passing interest to my family. My Barbadian-born parents were born and raised under British rule and although Barbados gained its independance from Britain in 1966, vacationing members of the Royal Family are still part of the scenery down there. I loved the photos of Diana's outfits, and the cheerfulness of this dutiful Princess was infectious. I was given the image of a woman who had overcome the sadness of her lonely childhood who become the World's sweetheart, and one of a very charming couple overall. (...) But this book stands as a monument to a fairy tale.
This is an outstanding book.

This is a book which my husband gave to me for my collection. All pictures in this book are in beautiful, vivid color. It is well written and can almost be called a photographic biography. This book takes one from Diana's early days of a kindergarten teacher, her courtship of Prince Charles, her engagement and marriage to Prince Charles, their honeymoon, and ends in April, 1982 before Prince William's birth in June. All pictures are lovely. I highly recommend this book.
