A Puerto Rican maid, Lilliana, 40, inheritor of a huge estate, is interrogated for killing her boss, a Rock 'n Roll Icon, Root MacAllister, but the interrogation reveals he committed suicide over guilt he felt for impregnating Lilliana's married daughter while her husband was overseas fighting in Iraq. The investigator, a big fan of the singer, threatens to have her deported to Mexico if she does not confess to murder, but when he learns that Lilliana wrote all the lyrics of the many songs that narrate the icon's secret adulterous affair, he lets her go on the condition that she not reveal that she wrote these lyrics. Lilliana moves into the mansion with her new family.
