So we have to create our own identity in this political arena that not only are the leaders focused on the reclaiming of the land, culture and language but our plans for how to change the historic views of indigenous people. To change the policies that have been written to keep indigenous people from reaching their full potential.
Over the last 10 years, Indigenous people were finally allowed to enter the business sector and businesses outside of the reserve. Which is an amazing opportunity for our youth to enter a world that is self-sufficient and self-sustaining and opens up the world of creativity for sharing knowledge and culture through history.
So what would be the path and vision for this world what could it be? I want people to understand that we need to evolve for ourselves, for our communities and for the whole nation. We need to help others find the right ways to succeed. Leaving knowledge and pathways of success for the next generation to use.
Again, we have to sit down and look at the laws that are put in front of indigenous communities and the bylaws that were created for us to stay stagnant. We have to start looking at the systematic breakdown of residential schools the trauma that is ingrained in our DNA because of them. The day school and the problems that it creates in our day-to-day lives. The 60's scoop and the destruction of the indigenous family from the Government to take our children away. They did this to create broken families and broken people.
