Waiting for the sequel...

Celebrity Skin is the way I imagine that the life of a teen celebrity can be. I can imagine that this is how the lives of popular celebrities like Lindsay and Britney were when they were teenagers. It's written very well and seems realistic enough that I don't doubt the fact that this could be why many of the celebrites turn out the way they do. Fans of teenage popstars, actresses and tabloids would love reading this fun and serious book about a girl who never thought she was good enough but turns out to be an A-list superstar.

BFF in the world of TV

Imagine you're best friends with someone like Lindsay Lohan, except you knew her before she was famous - and infamous. You get to watch and learn s she goes on her adventure into stardom and all of its triumphs and tragedies. And along the way, you break out of your shy shell. That's what I love about Erin, the main character and narrator of Celebrity Skin. She goes through a lot to be best friends with Taylor, keeping both of them sane. Liane Bonin has created two very real girls here, with a multi-layered friendship. There is so much to love in the book - it is sharp and dramatic, and has a lot of great characters - Taylor's mother is a piece of work! And the star of Taylor's TV show gives you a look at how insane some movie stars can be. I felt like I was with Erin the whole way, and got to be on the set of a TV show and learn about the film and TV business. Erin's family relationships are also very well-written and touching. I can't wait for the next book in the series to see what happens next to Erin (and Taylor, too).

Taylor Christensen is one of the hottest stars in Hollywood. She's young and beautiful, but she wasn't always that way. Her best friend, Erin Kim, has the geeky pictures to prove it. Erin has been with Taylor through middle school bullies and high school girl fights. She was there for Taylor when she was alone on the first day of school and when she got her first big break. Erin, having problems of her own with her headstrong Korean-born parents, needs Taylor just as bad as Taylor needs her. Taylor's rise to stardom isn't exactly all fun and games and someone needs to be around to keep her sane. From a crazy stage mom who seems to spend every penny Taylor makes to see-through dresses that make front-page news, Erin sticks to Taylor like glue. Taylor's problems may be crazy but it's a lot more fun than what is going on in Erin's house. Erin stays Taylor's one real friend through everything, but as time goes by that gets harder and harder to do. Taylor starts to self-destruct and Erin watches from the sidelines, scared that speaking up will ruin their friendship. But real friends speak up, right? This book is full of hot guys, pretty yet deadly girls, and all the drama you can expect from Hollywood. There are characters you'll love and characters you'll love to hate. This book was awesome and with only nine chapters it's a fast read. I had trouble putting this one down and I have a countdown going for when the next book in the series, Pretty on the Outside: Fame Unlimited, comes out. I highly suggest grabbing a copy of your own!! Great insite into Hollywood

Great read. Keeps moving and never a dull moment. Interesting insite into Hollywood and life as a "star". Well written and great character development . Can't wait for the next book.

Great Book

This is a wonderful book that tells the story of best friends Erin and Taylor as Taylor bursts onto the scene in Hollywood on her way to superstardom. Of course Taylor's life wasn't always glitz and fame, and Erin is the loyal best friend who knew her before she was the next big thing. The book gives a great inside peak at the lives of young Hollywood starlets and Erin's along for the ride that becomes her life. The book includes a crazy "stage" mom and of course a glimpse of the party girl attitudes. Erin really is the star of this book though and provides a grounded attitude that doesn't keep the more wild Taylor out of trouble but tries to provide her with sensibilities that one wishes someone would provide to the real stars of today like Hilton, Lohan, Ritchie and Spears. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the second book in the series.
