Preparing for a visit to Catholic New York City by Donald Costello July 2024

Any Catholic planning on visiting New York City could no better preparing for that visit by reading “Catholic New York City." The book takes you from Jesuit Father Isaac Jogues born in France who feared for his life as he attempted convert Native Americans. Then you are walked through the many Bishops and Cardinals that served New York City. The pictures of first Holy Communions bring back the memory of our own First Holy Communion. Pictures of the St. Patrick’s Day parade when most New Yorkers become Irish, brought back my own marching in that parade. There are neat pictures with accompanying stories that will hopefully prepare you for the visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
