Good examples of his work

When I saw an exhibit on this artist's paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York years ago, I was so impressed with his work that I had to buy this book. I wanted to remember these contemplative romantic paintings and the expansive landscapes. This book takes me back to that feeling every time.

Friedrich's work celebrates the solitude of the soul & man's union with nature. It is lonely, bleak & brilliant. It transports you to another place & time, one far removed from the chaos of modern life. This must be the definative work on CDF, so far as i know. A "must have", if ever there were one.
