This Book was DOPE!!

I really liked this book! Thomas Long did his thing! He represented B-More like no other. Scar got what he deserved in the end and so did L-Boogie. You don't do your friend like that. Karma is real and Thomas showed it in this book!

2 Birds with One Stone

Cash Rules proves that Thomas Long has more depth than he showed in A Thug's Life. That book was good, but this book not only entertains, but it gives insight into the evils of the streets and what people will do to get ahead without thinking of the consequences down the road. There are lessons in this novel, but you may have to read between the lines. What stays in your face is the rough side of life along with the struggle to come up on that money. If you like anything by Thomas Long, and if you have any depth, then you'll love this. It's so good that I read it twice.

da bomb

This book started off a little slow. But don't be fooled. The book is off the chain. I won't tell the story. Check it out for yourself.

Representing MD!!!

Thomas Long did a awesome job on "Cash Rules". I couldn't put this book down, it kept me hooked. It's the story Takeisha, Latrell and Danita, 3 life-long friends who make it in the rap game. With their stardom and money, of course comes drama, with a capital "D"!! The girls get signed to Cash Rules records which is run by a former drug kingpin Samson, who is a cold blooded snake, he will kill when it comes to his money. Takeisha's former flame Scar is also a rapper who winds up in jail for a bogus rape charge, but he might get out and revenge is on his mind. Along the way a kinky threesome is caught on tape, drugs, murder, blackmail, and all kinds of sneaky ish is goin on in this novel! I loved it!!

Are a Promising Author's Talents Being Wasted?

I have read all of Thomas Long's books. I find them riveting, vivid, and can usually finish them in one sitting. However, I am finding the 'hip-hop novel' becoming increasingly boring. The plot varies little: much explicit sex, murder, mayhem, using/selling drugs, greed and materialism to the max, and the usual twists and turns of gangsta life. Unfortunately, it is becoming quite clear that if one reads one 'hip-hop novel', one has read them all. I feel that Thomas has a lot to offer and has a talent for writing. i would hope that he would broaden his genre; to limit one's self to one topic can become stultifying at the least. The book is good. It holds your attention. One can feel one's self right in the mix. But,the topic is becoming old, IMHO.
