Reunited with Carmen

I read this book when I was a teen and I loved it. I have thought about it many times over the years and was never able to find it. So glad I came to this site - ordered it immediately. I don't remember all the details, it's been almost 30 years, but to find something that I have thought about all those years is pretty remarkable. I can't wait to read it again and hold on to this book forever. Always a fan of Jesus' undying (pun intended) love.

From prostitute to Pentecost

I read this book so many times as a young adult. I wanted to be Carmen. I fantasized that I became a prostitute and a drug addict and then Mr Right came along and introduced me to Jesus. Actually, I only read the ending once. I kept going over the sexier parts earlier in the book. It's amazing how salacious these Christian books can be in an understated way. I guess my imagination filled in the blanks. I went on to read other books by Benton...they tended to be Cinderella-type stories, but none were as good as Carmen.

wonderful book

This book was very good. I personally loved it. It has real life events that is inspiring and helpful. Carmen takes several wrong turns in her journey through life but it all works out in the end.

I liked it!

I really recommend this book to anyone, but especially to teens. I have read it 3 times! This book is really an eye opener about drugs and about Christ. I would really like to read more books like this.

I thought it was a really great book.

I never finished the book but I got through most of it to where she went back to Bud for some heroine after she got into the fight with that girl. But I really liked what I read and I would like to buy it but I don't know where to find it. It really opened my eyes. I think every teenager should read it.
