$20,000 raise over 2 years!

I took Dr. Titlebaum's MBA 639 "Sports Marketing" class over the summer semester of 2007. Dr. T used the "Timeout" sections from each chapter as weekly homework assignments. If you are serious about self-improvement, these "Timeout" sections provide you with milestones to achieve your goal. I have a full-time job, and have been taking MBA classes at the University of Dayton on a part-time basis. At the beginning of 2007, my job started to stagnate, pushing me to look for a new job. I had a couple of hit-and-miss job opportunities before taking MBA 639 in May 07. However, over the course of the summer, I started to see an improvement in the quality of job offers. My interview skills and resume presentation were greatly enhanced by Dr. T's "Timeouts" from The Career Playbook. At the end of the semester, I accepted a job offer that would require me to move, but realize a $10,000 pay raise within one year. Upon hearing about my move, one of my current employer's sister organizations made me a counter offer that I couldn't refuse. I will receive a $10,000 pay raise immediately, and realize an additional $10,000 raise in one year. Dr. T's recommendations and excercises from The Career Playbook helped me hone my negotiation skills and contributed towards the settlement of this lucrative counteroffer. While you may be tempted to do so, do not read this book in one sitting. This book requires active reader participation. You need to dedicate time to yourself and this book in order to receive any benefit from The Career Playbook. Your efforts will be rewarded.
