Interesting and Thought-provoking

This book of essays compares and contrasts Captain American with Iron Man on many levels, ultimately weighing who makes the better superhero, who is the better leader, how their morals are defined and how they can be compromised, and more. Edited by Travis Langley and with a Forward by the great Stan Lee, the essays are broken into 3 categories: Origins, Missions, and Ideals. Within those categories, each author(s) selects a trait, conflict, theme, etc. they wish to explore and through which lens, giving us a truly wide range of perspectives on these two iconic characters, their friendship and their disagreements, and ultimately on their impact within not only the Marvel universe but ours as well. Quotes from both superheroes and real humans alike are sprinkled amongst the chapters/sections, and a few other characters get sidebars/notable mentions, such as Bucky Barnes and Nick Fury. I found it interesting and thought-provoking, and the essays were of good length to explore a topic without becoming tedious.
