A message to the breeders who are desireous of working toward reducing the incidence of canine hip dysplasia in their line. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a well written book from a master! Fred always does his homework and is most knowlegable in all things canine. We affectionately refer to him as the "Doggy Lama". Fred has years of experience and credentials that are bar none. This book is an excellent coffee table treasure for serious canine fanciers. I also recommend his other book entitled "The Total German Shepherd Dog". It isn't just for the German Shepherd crowd. Much of the book is just as relative to all breeds. Also, if you order from Fred directly, you can request an autograph. Buy BOTH books! They are definitely the gold standard!
An excellent guide but beware of which version you buy

This is an excellent guide on canine hip dysplasia written by "Mr. GSD" himself. It is a must for any dog fancier. But, please watch which version you buy. The most recent version has a blue cover (you can buy it directly from Fred Lanting himself, just do a Google search for him). The blue cover is the most up to date version (I think they were published within the past year). Green covered copies are illegal copies printed without Fred's permission (published with stolen money) and contain information that is several years old.
A really great read, that gives you 'food for thought'

The book is very easy to understand, is expertly written and is packed full of valuable info on this crippling illness. It gives you lots of valued information that you never hear about thus making you look at the illness in a whole new light. It is a truly great book and is well worth reading if you are a dog breeder or owner and need to understand more on this subject, I have learnt a lot by reading it and I very glad I came across it.
