Candle Magic

This is by far one of the best books on candle magic ever, this little book is packed with everything a practitioner of fire needs to know to begin using the ancient art of fire magic, I own a few books on candle magic and this book simplifies the mystery of working with fire, in fact this is the one of the first book I often recommend to folks. this book is a must for any serious student of candle magic, Mrs Riva has blessed us all with a true gem.

Witchcraft at its best! Hoodoo to take care of the rest!

Definitely what the title says .... This book, like many by Anna Riva, combine European Witchcraft with Hoodoo to create an exciting blend of magical greatness! This is personally one of my favorite books by Anna Riva.... I really like the technique presented in this book .... Basically, you will need to have a seperate altar for these workings or a candle board -- the layout is pretty the same, but the items change a good bit for each different spell you decide to do. The words you use are more along the lines of affirmations, however, it is your energy combined with the oils, herbs and candles that do the work. I also really like her section on the saints a lot! Many of the Anna Riva books seem incomplete, but this is one of her best. People approaching this book should realize that they are not buying a "wiccan" or european candle magic book. What you are getting is hoodoo. This is the reason you need the occult oil formulas, and the incense powders, these products are made to use with spiritual worker's books like this one. This book has nothing to do with fluffy new age practice. If you want a solid candle working book, get this one. Many prayers to saints are included along with affirmations and altar setups.

I love this book because it's not the usual sweetness and light. everything from catholic saints to black magic and witchcraft! its great fun ! try Hex an archenemy on page 43. all you need is damnation incense and a black candle. more fun then monopoly!

This book has nothing to do with Wicca

This book has nothing to do with Wicca and in no way claims to. The author writes for another path. I think the first book you should read is the one everyone tells you not to. You don't have to agree with anyone, but can work wisely with a broad base of knowledge. The idea of good and evil belongs only to patriarchal, god centered religion. Only the heart knows what is right for the individual, and the law of return is found in every path.
