Calm Before the Storm

The first book of this series tells the story of how the Mennonites in Russia worked hard to build up the land. Having been to many of the places mentioned in the book, I can relate to where they were and how the countryside looked. Janice L. Dick tells the story in an accurate and interesting fashion. Her characters are drawn very well and believably.
