"The Peace Maker"

It's nickel-plated with carved ivory grips, and it has a dangerous impact on every person who comes in contact with it. "It" is a .45 caliber Colt Peacemaker. The problem is it only makes trouble, not peace. Set in late 1870's Colorado, Phil Dunlap's new book, "Call of the Gun" gives the reader a colorful glimpse of the lives of the people who are secondary characters to the real star of the book, the Peacemaker. From the beginning of the book when you are rooting for the death of Creeg Bedloe, a no account ruffian; through the plight of Johnny Beaver, a young orphaned stable hand who is wrongly accused of the murder of his mentor; to the introduction of "Ivory" John Morgan, a U.S. Marshal with a personal vendetta; the gun affects each life differently. Good and evil are clearly defined in "Call of the Gun." There is no doubt that you will have to choose: white hat or black.
