Fargo has his hands full when the U.S. Army hires him to lead a caravan of cantakerous camels right through the baddest lands in the West. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Skye Fargo is hired by the U.S. Army to act as guide from Arizona to California for the most unusual caravan yet. This one is made up of camels, creatures the Army hopes to use more successfully than horses in the deserts of the Southwest. These stubborn animals aren't his only problem though, there's their handler, a funny-sounding foreigner, an army troop of malcontents, a pair of seductive ladies, a band of vengeance seeking Navajo... It isn't long before there's a suspicious death that throws some mystery elements into the tale as does the real motives for some of the members of the caravan being along for the ride. There's plenty of action and a few humourous moments, usually involving the camels - although the author does seem somewhat obsessed with the animals' bodily functions. The writing style should make it easy to see if this particular author has written anymore entries in the series. So this story has all the elements expected from a Trailsman book and it all comes together in a satisfactory read.
