Must Read

Although the subject was difficult, that's what made this book so intriguing. I read this book a couple of times and I will never forget it. Absolutely one of the most graphic and tragic stories I've ever read.

Very good book

Read it around 15 years ago but wanted to read again. Very good book but did made me cry. Was discussed about alot of things that happened.

Chilling!

I've read a lot of true crimes over the years, but this one gave me chills. The story on Wesson and his family put the "d" in dysfunctional. His mixing of both religion and vampirism is fascinating to say the least. I unlike, the rest of the country hadn't heard of the Wesson case, with the Scott Peterson trial so much in the forefront, so the components of this case were totally new to me. I really feel for the family members that are left behind suffering now because of this tragedy. Marcus Wesson, is a master manipulator of the most dangerous kind. The story is as well written as "Helter Skelter" and just as chilling. By all means, read. Because there are people like Marcus among us and we need to know who they are.

Difficult Subject Matter

This book was hard to read at times, due to the subject matter, however it is a wonderful effort by a first time author. I would recommend it to those interested in true crime. The family tree is very complicated, but there is a guide in the front to help explain the complications arising from this man who, first of all, had a child (or children) with his future mother-in-law, then her daughter, then THEIR own daughters, plus a few of his neices for good measure! An amazing story!

By Their Father's Hand

I had attended the trial on several occasions and felt that Monte had done an excellent job of describing the indescribable. It was very true to the trial with added insights.

True crime must read!

This book is a well-written and researched account of the Wesson family massacre, reminiscent of Vincent Bugliosi's, "Helter Skelter", and Truman Capote's, "In Cold Blood". If true crime books are your interest, you will be riveted by this harrowing account. I read it in one day. Looking forward to this young author's next literary endeavor!
