Old and bold pilots

This book about Minnesota's legendary bush pilots is a joy to read. Veteran writer Bob Cary and pilot Jack Hautala weave together tales of old and bold pilots "who play the odds with consummate skill and iron nerve." From 1930 into the 1970s more floatplanes and bush pilots operated out of Ely, Minnesota, than anywhere else in North America, according to the authors. I've known some bush pilots and am an avid reader of their stories, and this book ranks with the best.
