I really enjoyed this book from the very beginning. I found it fast paced and hilarious at times. I could relate to the main character and I love books about traveling. This is my first book by this author but it will not be my last!
a must-read for 20somethings

I first picked up this book because of the travel references to Italy and Greece. But I soon learned that it was more than the settings that I was impressed with. This book is unlike any other chick-lit novel. Any girl can easily identify with Casey, who is trying to find herself in the world. This became a story, not merely about female bonding, but about self-reflection and self-discovery, things that I'm sure any other young woman in her 20s can easily relate to. I found so many similarities between myself and Casey, that I'm confident that others will also.
Perfect Summer Read!

I initially looked at this book because of the "Big Ten" connection, as well as the travel aspects, having been to Greece and wanting to go to Italy. I thought it would be mostly about the trip and scenery, so I started it on a Saturday evening with TV going in the background. I got so caught up in the character development and relationships, that I turned the TV off and sat there reading it until I finished. Very rarely do I find a book that I literally can't put down! Caldwell made me feel as if I was one of the girls and was right there with them. It's a fascinating character study of Casey Evers and her 2 best friends who are trying to regain what they've lost, as well as a look at Casey's relationship with her boyfriend, her family and her chosen career field. I highly recommend this book and can't wait until Caldwell's next book is released.
Perfect Beach Book!!

I recently picked up this book in a mad rush at the airport to get on a plane for a long needed break - what a lucky grab for me!! This book was the perfect bonus to my vacation. I found myself opening this book by the pool, at the spa, even in my room when I had a little down time - any chance I had I took to see what "the girls" were up to. For a thirty-something married woman, it was a wonderful retreat back to the single days: travel with girlfriends; worries about boyfriends; and overall questioning of the meaning of happiness. It was light enough for the beach, yet meaty enough to hold my attention. Caldwell's development of Casey, Kat and Lindsey was so detailed, I'm certain I could pick them out of a line-up. There is a little bit of each of us in each of them, making it easy to relate to everything happening in the book, no matter what your age or your stage. Caldwell uses a well-balanced mix of descriptive scenery, private thoughts, conversations and events, all making me feel I was on that trip, too. She even managed to throw in some good twists along the way. For someone who has always thought there should be more to a book ending than "they lived happily ever after", this one is a true winner! Thanks to Caldwell and let's all hope she keeps them coming!! If you don't like this book, try the self-help section.
A Great Read!

This book is exactly what I was hoping for and more. It was a great ride with three well-developed characters on an emotional, adventurous and for all its uniqueness, a still recognizable journey. The locations were described with such lush visual detail that I felt I was a part of the crew and I really enjoyed the funny human moments. I think I was expecting something that was more like a great travel or vacation book, but this one had some substance to it as well -- it was more than an entertaining read. While the story was engaging, it was also relatable to the growing pains of relationships and the challenges we face as we move on in our 20s and 30s and try to maintain relationships or in some cases reconnect with our best friends. Read this book. You will not regret your choice!
