Excellent introduction to the construction of models

This book is an excellent introduction to modeling. It is an older book, so relies on simpler software (spreadsheets, etc.) However, for this very reason, it works better for teaching students concepts of agent-based and dynamic systems modeling. I have taken the models from environmental conservation and adopted them in teaching psychology and social policy. Every exercise it a gem.
