Informative Books

I am new to the computer world and have found the books for dummies to be extremly helpful and very entertaining. I would recomend these books to anyone with computer questions or just for an amusing read. Carol from Ohio.

Great book, do the job yourself!

Even though it's a little harder to save money on a bare bones PC, this book will help you build a game player's dream PC for much less than those models you find in the back of PC Gamer. This book covered everything I needed with recommendations on what to buy. Pick this one up, you won't be disappointed.

Very good for a first timer

A very helpful book. Explains well the building of PCs. A first timer could do this. However, comments about using Dos are a little outdated. Hopefully the second edition will sort this out.

Great for anyone just starting their 1st PC

I have fairly extensive computer experience but when I set out to build my own PC I found myself in the dark about a great many things. This book helped to turn on the lights and get me on my way.

The Perfect book for the First Time Computer Builder

As a Value Added Reseller, I have been building computers for the last 15 years. I am now recommending "Building a PC for Dummies" for first time computer builders and those who want to open the hood and understand what's inside. The book takes a humorous approach to the construction process and provides a complete "How To" step by step processes. The components of a computer system can change each month. Information about the latest and greatest parts can be gained from many other sources, such as Toms Hardware. For the first timer, this book is a must have.
