A collection of poetry in various styles and lengths. Lost loves, lost youth, missed chances -- things left behind. Belated death, moon-driven madness, blood-wet sands, dragons and ghost ships --... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This has to be the first time I have ever rated a book. A book of poetry no less.It so happened the thing that caught my eye was the beautiful cover. I looked into what this book was all about and discovered it was poetry. But reading Mr.Humes description of subject matter of the poetry caught my attention. Poems of love, war, loves lost. I read a few pages of the samples and I was hooked. When I received the book I had to pace myself for I did not want to read through the book so fast. I kind of treated it as a fine wine. His poems come from alot of his life experiences and are very moving. I'm a big guy and I'm not afraid to admit a few of his poems really hit home with me, and you sit there with a lump in your throat, and with a nod of your head, You think Man that really was a great little read. I want to thank Mr.Hume for turning me on to poetry and being man enough to admit it!
Poetry for the Pragmatist

Jim Hume's verse integrates vivid imagery, technical brilliance, and biting wit. It's poetry that's seen something more of life than the inside of a university English department. Hume is an A. E. Houseman for the twenty-first century. Read this book -- you will not be disappointed.
