This book is a wonderful journey in time and a tribute to the life of a great composer. It speak about the life of one of America's most influential composers of the early 20th century. Jay Gorney's life goes along a historical context that is of major importance to today's society. It speaks of the journey of a refugee from Russia to America. It describes his success on Broadway and Hollywood and his courageous stand against the McCarthy blacklist. This book is about a complicated life of a very simple and kind man. It is a delight to read.
