I consider this more of an art book than a book about spirituality. Whether one considers Mother Meera to be a true avatar of the Divine Mother on earth, an inspired prophet, simply a very devout religious person, or a bit of a charlatan, her watercolor paintings are charming and beautiful in their own right. From the back cover: "The radiant paintings in this book are watercolor depictions by Mother Meera of the after-death states. Painted after the death of her close devotee and uncle, Mr. Reddy, they record her direct perception of the subtle realms through which we all will eventually travel. They stand as a uniquely authoritative document that demonstrates that the soul of the seeker can expect the loving protection and guidance of the Divine Mother in death, as in life." Mmm, perhaps. But taken as a fond remembrance, and hopeful for the peaceful repose of the soul of her departed friend, these are touching, somehow comforting images depicting what she sees as the journey of the soul after death. Nice. Incidentally, this book was published in Hong Kong. The foreword, and captions for each of the paintings, are in English, French AND German. So there.
