Bought on an impulse at the grocery store, very glad I did.

The dedication at the beginning of the book sold me, and the book did not disappoint. I could barely put the book down, which is saying something because reading physical books has been difficult with my adhd lately. I found everything about the two main characters enticing and enthralling, and even more so the world Ali created for this story was so good, I wanted to know more about it, I was desperate for there to be more I could read in this setting. I hope Ali comes back to this world again sometime.

Yet another amazing Ali Hazelwood book!!

A Fang-tastic Blend of Romance and Adventure

In this gripping paranormal romance, a forbidden love blossoms between Misery Lark, a Vampyre bride, and Lowe Moreland, an Alpha Werewolf, as they navigate a precarious alliance between their species. Misery, the daughter of a powerful Vampyre councilman, finds herself thrust into a marriage of convenience with Lowe, the ruthless yet just leader of the Weres. Despite their distrust and conflicting agendas, their undeniable attraction sparks a journey fraught with danger and passion. Misery harbors her own secrets and motivations, willing to sacrifice everything for the chance to reclaim what she holds dear, even if it means embracing a life alongside the very enemy she was raised to fear. Rating: 1. **Plot and Storytelling:** 5/5 I found the plot of this book thoroughly engaging and well-executed, keeping me hooked from start to finish. 2. **Characterization:** 4/5 Witnessing the dynamic between Lowe and Misery was a highlight for me, and the supporting characters added depth to the story. While there wasn't significant character growth, it felt appropriate for the narrative, and the characters remained believable and relatable throughout. 3. **Writing Style:** 5/5 Ali Hazelwood's writing style was a delight, with its excellent pacing and entertaining prose keeping me thoroughly entertained. 4. **Originality:** 5/5 This book stood out for its unique premise and world-building. The interplay between different species added a fresh layer of drama while still feeling familiar in its emotional depth. 5. **Emotional Impact and Resolution:** 3/5 Although I wanted to connect more deeply with the main characters, the emotional resonance fell a bit short for me. However, the resolution tied up the story's loose ends well and left room for future installments. 6. **Smut:** 4/5 The steamy scenes in the book were enjoyable, striking a perfect balance of fun and sensuality without veering into excessive territory. Overall score: 4.33/5 If you're in the mood for more lighthearted paranormal romance reads, here are some recommendations: 1. "Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs" by Molly Harper - This is the first book in the Jane Jameson series, which follows Jane, a recently-turned vampire who navigates her new undead life with humor and wit. It's a light-hearted and humorous take on the paranormal romance genre. 2. “ Dead Witch Walking" by Kim Harrison - This is the first book in the Hollows series, which follows Rachel Morgan, a witch and bounty hunter, as she navigates the supernatural underworld of Cincinnati. Filled with humor, action, and romance, it's a fun and fast-paced read. These books should provide you with plenty of laughs and light-hearted romance to enjoy!
